We worked with Roots Remedies owner to develop a strong look that echoed her products brand and put the product front and center. Working with local photographer Zack Bowen, we were able to take strong product shots to support the products' stories. A blog was added to help position the site as the lifestyle product that it is.
The site features a completely customized backend based on Shopify. With such a small number of products, a larger ecommerce deployment did not make sense. A customized Wordpress deployment powers the blog section of the site picking up where Shopify's features leave off. Google Hosted apps powers internal user e-mail, calendar, and document sharing.
In 2010, Roots Remedies' site was one of three ecommerce finalists in the Technology Association of Maine's Best of the Web Awards.
