Creative Portland

Project Notes:

Portland, Maine has a fantastically talented population of creatives. Writers, designers, graphic artists, audio and video producers, developers, and photographers are all helping to create a livable, workable region with a bustling creative economy. This fact remains one of the key reasons I have remained in Portland for so long, but it was also a frustration when I first relocated here.  When I needed to pull in resources early on in my time here, I wasn’t sure where to turn to find these resources.

Fast forward to today and I am proud to have assembled one of the most talented teams in the region – one capable of creating and building unique and informed branding, stellar photography, and amazing web presences.  There are still days where I wonder what resources are out there that I have yet to tap.

When I saw Chris Kalani’s fantastic work on www.prtlnd.com for Portland, Oregon and how it had been adapted by folks in Boulder, Colorado (www.bldr.im), I couldn’t help but think that this was the exact kind of organic directory we needed.

As a companion to the site, we’ve also launched the @creativeprtlnd Twitter account to help broadcast when creative collaboration opportunities are happening around the area.
