Kevin Brooks Web Design and Development
Kevin Brooks is a Web designer and developer in Portland, Maine. Since 2003, Kevin has worked with local, regional, and national brands to bring to life projects spanning basic informational sites to complex, secure e-commerce applications. As a programmer, Kevin is fluent in the latest XHTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL versions and works to ensure that your project uses the latest best practices for organic search engine optimization and accessibility.
To every project, Kevin brings his belief that a website does not need to be a hassle to maintain. Kevin is proud to deploy highly customized WordPress-, Drupal-, and Magento-powered solutions that empower clients to manage their sites through easy-to-use, Web-based tools, rather than through complex programs such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage.
Away from his office, Kevin remains a creative individual. He enjoys being an active member of the southern Maine creative community, working with AIGA Maine, TechMaine, and bringing creatives together via CreativePortland.me.
A budding photographer, Kevin loves shooting with his D200 and looks forward to the day he can justify the purchase of a Nikon D3s. A lover of theater, Kevin is a founding member of Portland Improv Experience. And an aspiring filmmaker, Kevin has produced and edited a number of short films. This in-depth knowledge of and expertise in photography, video production, and public communication enables Kevin to design and develop websites that are clean, functional, and visually striking.
Kevin holds a B.A. in English from the University of Maine at Farmington. His career began during his third year at the University when he was hired as a full-time professional to help design and develop the campus’ wildly successful intranet. Shortly thereafter, he joined the University’s software development and marketing groups as lead graphic designer for external print and online communications.
When clients work with Kevin, they benefit from partnering with someone who is able to converse in plain English rather than techno speak. He works hard to ensure that every one of his clients understands the process of develping their brand online. Clear diagrams, collaboraritve management tools, and one on one training help to keep everyone engaged to create a successful project.
Kevin currently enjoys living in Portland's West End and biking to the office when the weather cooperates.
Over the years, Kevin has had the privilege of working with many clients. Here's a sample of some of the projects Kevin has been a part of:
